We worked with the HCPC on their review of the Standards of conduct, performance and ethics (SCPE). The SCPE are the standards that are set for all the professionals on the HCPC Register stating the expectations of their behaviour and conduct. We ran a series of focus groups across the UK with registrants and workshops with service users to discuss their views on changes to the standards. This work formed an integral part of the review.
We have worked with the MS Society on a range of projects, using mini groups and focus groups, to consult with people with MS and their carers on issues including welfare reforms and social care experiences. The research has helped the MS Society to incorporate the views and experiences of people with MS in their responses to Government consultations on policy reform, as well as informing their own campaigns.
“In September 2014 the MS Society commissioned Carol and the Focus Group to conduct 8 focus groups across England and Scotland with people affected by MS. Carol is a delight to work with. She fully understood our needs and was able to work with us to ensure that we achieved the outcomes we were looking for. The final report and conclusions Carol drew out have been key in our ongoing work around social care and we are really pleased with our decision to work with the Focus Group.”
Emma Darkins, MS Society.
We were commissioned by SANDS to help with the development of some key public health messages to help raise public awareness of Stillbirth. We ran a series of focus groups with midwives and pregnant women to test some images and messages. This was a very sensitive study and resulted in some key outcomes for the development of a public awareness campaign due to be developed between Sands and the Department of Health.
